Realizing that most problems don’t have just one layer, therapy can’t have just one approach. Simply put, people are complex. Each person is unique and multifaceted and requires recognition and acceptance of those characteristics in the therapy setting. The relationship in therapy is based on finding that healthy balance between challenge and support that is necessary for you to make the changes that will help you be happier and healthier. All of us at times need the support and care of another human being. As capable as we are, our drive to have a sense of belonging, empathic connection, and attunement with another human being is on the top of the list.
Being that the mind and body work together, the brain serves as a powerful force that can make you thrive or make you ill. The exciting part is that you can develop mastery over this force through therapy.
My style is supportive, directive, interactive and encouraging. I believe it is important to help others strengthen their inner voice & develop positive coping tools in order to create meaningful relationships with others & themselves. Therapy will blend insight orientation with growth and coping skills that will work for all aspects of your life. Therapy may incorporate traditional talk therapy, mindfulness, experiential and body-oriented approaches, dream states, connection to nature, spirituality and existential experience, health and lifestyle concerns.
YOU’RE HERE TO DEVELOP YOUR OWN VOICE
You are worth taking the time to make room for new ways of thinking and behaving! I encourage my clients to identify their strengths and reach their full potential by bringing a non-judgemental yet direct approach to counseling.
If you have a vision of a better life and need some help getting there, I’d be honored to help you.
